Changeblock Protocol, a platform built on blockchain technology, recently had its smart contracts thoroughly examined by EtherAuthority, a well-regarded blockchain security firm. This audit was a key step to make sure the protocol is strong and secure before it’s officially launched.
Project Overview
The smart contract for Changeblock Protocol includes several important functions like creating new tokens (minting), destroying tokens (burning), allowing users to take out their assets (withdrawing), adjusting balances (rebalancing), granting permission for actions (approving), and putting the contracts into action (deploying). It also uses well-established and widely reviewed components from the OpenZeppelin library, such as ERC20, Ownable, IERC20, and IERC721. Because these OpenZeppelin components have already been checked by the community and proven over time, they weren’t part of this specific audit.
Audit Findings
EtherAuthority’s review determined that the smart contracts are “Secured.” However, the audit pointed out that the contracts have owner controls, meaning they aren’t completely decentralized. To conduct the audit, EtherAuthority used tools like Slither, Solhint, and Remix IDE, along with a careful manual review. They identified one critical issue, one medium-level issue, two low-level issues, and several very minor issues. Importantly, all the significant problems were either fixed or acknowledged in the updated code.
Significance of the Audit
In the world of blockchain, it’s really important to have smart contract audits. They help find and fix any potential weaknesses. By taking care of the issues that were found, Changeblock Protocol is making its platform more secure, which helps build confidence among its users and everyone involved.
