Waifu Protocol Smart Contract Audit: Securing the Metaverse on FTM, AVAX, and BSC
The Waifu Protocol, a metaverse-powered blockchain project utilizing ERC-1155 NFTs, recently underwent a comprehensive smart contract audit conducted by EtherAuthority. This audit affirms Waifu’s commitment to transparency, security, and robust DeFi infrastructure.
Spanning eleven smart contracts and deployed across FTM, AVAX, and BSC, the Waifu Protocol integrates advanced features like reward distribution, liquidity management, revenue splitting, NFT-based perks, and more. EtherAuthority’s audit was performed using both manual code analysis and tools like Slither, Solhint, and Remix IDE.
Audit Highlights:
- No critical vulnerabilities were found.
- 1 high, 2 medium, and 3 low-severity issues were identified, all accompanied by recommendations.
- Passed all core checks including integer overflow, function visibility, access control, and input validation.
- The audit noted centralization concerns due to multiple owner-controlled functions—standard in upgradable smart contracts but a factor for investor caution.
Key Issues & Fixes:
- High Risk: LP tokens could be mismanaged via external treasury accounts. EtherAuthority recommends managing them within the contract.
- Medium Risk: Lack of transfer tax limits and admin role reassignment vulnerabilities.
- Low Risk: Infinite loops and missing event logs in batch functions.
Despite these findings, the Waifu development team was quick to respond and resolve all critical issues. EtherAuthority concluded the smart contracts are “Secured” and ready for mainnet deployment, with recommendations to renounce ownership post-launch for enhanced decentralization.
